Health Screening Exercise In Tamale For Children With Neuro Disorders

The Autism Help Foundation on April 9, 2016 organised a health screening exercise to assess children with neuro disorders in the Northern Region of Ghana.

Speaking on the screening after monitoring events, the Chairman of the foundation, Mr. Kwasi Gyan Apenteng wrote;
"Saturday's successful screening by AHF marks a definite upscale of the organization's activities and organizational capacity.
Being a part of such a project brings me joy as it brings me peace. Why some people live normal lives for others to live specially is the unknown.

Parents brought their children from Yendi, Bimbilla and its surroundings but we do know there are others who could not travel the distance to Tamale, and we will fill in somehow.
On behalf of the Board, I congratulate all the member-volunteers who so freely gave their time, expertise and other resources.
I also thank all the sponsors and supporters for making the event possible. I want to assure them that we will come again for more.

My biggest gratitude has to go to the parents of the children who had confidence in AHF and its mission. We may not fully understand the causes of certain conditions but by such screening, we hope, with God's grace, to catch them early and thus help with possible solutions."

The Vice Chairperson of AHF, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie also had this to say after monitoring the exercise:

"Many are they who believe the spirit of volunteerism can not be seen in our part of the world anymore. Saturday 9th April gave me a different perspective. Autism Help Foundation (AHF) redefined volunteerism.

Under the leadership of an amazing blend of citizens who are dedicated to serving humanity, the first health screening event by AHF in Tamale was organised.

I am blessed to be a part of this amazing team. I am inspired by the teamwork and the willingness of many people to ensure that the event is successful.

I pray this exercise brings hope to the many people who accessed the services rendered. I also hope that members are energized to do more.

May each one, teach one, to be compassionate in this challenging world and strive to be the change in making our world a better place for all.

Akpe na mi kataa! (Thank you all!)."

The president of AHF, Amoafowaa Sefa Cecilia, advised all to first think of the probability of being in the shoes of people living with neuro disorders before acting and treat them as they would want to be treated if they were in their shoes.

Autism Help Foundation's first health screening exercise in Tamale was made possible by the many individuals and corporate bodies.

We'll like to take this opportunity to thank Goil, Ghana Health Service, Coca-Cola, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Autism Ambassadors of Ghana, Giddipass Restaurant, Tamale, B.Diet Tom Brown and the Library Board, Tamale for the immerse support.
